New Haircut!

Well, I finally did it...I cut my hair. I've been thinking of doing something different for a while and I was getting so tired of it the way it was. Lucky for me, my neighbor, Rebecca, used to be a hairdresser and she said she would cut it for me!! She did a GREAT job and I just love it! Everyone says Sutherlan and I look alike now. I think we have always looked alike, but I guess now we really do.

Our Anniversary - 11 years

Brandon and I celebrated our 11-year Anniversary on August 9. As a surprise, Brandon planned a trip to New Orleans for a long weekend getaway. It was so sweet and a lot of fun. One of the reasons he chose New Orleans is because I took Brandon to New Orleans for the first time back in 1995 to his first Saints game. He had been a Saints fan for a long time, but had never been to a game or to New Orleans. So you could say, it is "our place". Since then, we have been MANY MANY times, but I have not been back since I had Dylan. The last time I went to New Orleans was to a Saints playoff game when I was pregnant with Dylan. We had so much fun browsing the shops, going to the French Market and even took the Trolley up to the Garden District, which we had never done before. We even visited the hotel where we stayed back then. It was like "Going Back". So, thank you Brandon for taking me back to "our place" and it has been the best 11 years of my life (really 13) and I love you more today than I did back then. You will always be my "sweetums"!

This picture was taken in the courtyard of the hotel where we stayed back in 1995. That was us "back then" and me now. We couldn't find anyone to take our picture together.

This picture was taken in the courtyard of Pat O's in 1995 and now. Don't we still look 21? Ha Ha

First Day of School

Dylan's first day of school was August 7. I can't believe my baby is in the 2nd grade!! I started this tradition (I guess you could say) of taking his picture in the driveway before he goes off to school. I'm sure he will not want to do this in a couple of years, but I'm going to do it as long as I can get him to stand for me and pose. He doesn't exactly looked thrilled about it this year, but there are some things a mother just needs to do, right??? I thought I would post the previous years along with this years just for fun.....

Tea Party

Sutherlan wanted to have a tea party, so we went all out and I made tea. She dressed up in her best princess gown with crown and all and we had a tea party. The kids had cupcakes and ice cream and we toasted to "Princess Sutherlan".

Cuties

Just had to post this picture because my babies are growing up! They look so old in this picture. It is, by far, my favorite picture I've taken in a while. :)

Amelia Island

I know it's August now, but wanted to post our trip to Amelia Island. Brandon had to work a conference down there and it just so happened that we left on my birthday! When we got there, we went out to dinner. It was really good!! Of course, when you are turning 34 it is just "another" birthday. The kids and I had a really good time swimming in the pool while Daddy worked. Also, our room overlooked a golf course, which Dylan thought was soooo cool. He kept wanting to walk down to the golf course to see if he could find any golf balls. I think he may take up golfing next.

This is the hole that our room overlooked. There was also a view of the beach.

I thought these were some really good pictures of the kids taken on the boardwalk leading to the beach.

Singing Diva - Take Two

Hey, I know it's been a while. I feel like we have been so busy lately!! Anyway, I just had to post an update to Singing Diva. Sutherlan and Dylan love putting on a show for us. They are just too cute!

One of Sutherlan's favorite cartoons to watch in the morning is "Super Why!" This is her favorite song from that show. It's called "I really love to spell, S-P-E-L-L". She has really learned her letters from watching this show and doing flash cards with me. She just loves to learn! It makes it so much easier for me!!
