Christmas 2008

Preparing for Santa.....

We watched the tracker, we made cupcakes and cookies and we fed the reindeer. We're ready!

Sutherlan had to try out her new cupcake maker. She said she is going to make cupcakes for everyone!

If anyone read our previous post about "Donuts with Santa", Santa gave us Reindeer food to throw out in the front yard so that Santa's Reindeer could find their way. The mix included oats, sunflower seeds and glitter to "light the way".

We made sugar cookies. Yes, they were pre-cut, but the kids iced them and decorated them with sprinkles. I think Santa liked them! He even left us a note.

So, Was it the BEST CHRISTMAS EVER??? I bet the kids would say, YES, YES, YES!!

Christmas at Nana and Papa's

We also went over to Nana and Papa's for Christmas this past weekend. The kids had so much fun seeing everyone! Dylan even said that this was THE BEST CHRISTMAS EVER!! How are we going to top that????

Christmas at Kiki and Pops' House

We went to Kiki and Pops' house for Christmas this past weekend. We did some arts and crafts while we were there. The kids made some really neat frames and Dylan got to make an Alabama helmet out of clay and paint it.

We headed over to Aunt B's house for dinner on Sunday night. Thanks for having us over! Aunt B had a really good idea to make a gingerbread house with the kids...well, it sounded good anyway. It started out good, but ended with us giving the kids each an end to decorate. It was a sweet thought...I don't think you will be building any gingerbread houses with Baby Will in the future, do you?? Who knew those things were so hard to make!!!

The final product......

We then went back to Kiki's house to get ready for Wentzel (Santa's elf) to come see us at Kiki and Pops' house. We went to bed early and the kids couldn't wait to see what Wentzel brought them.

After a wonderful Christmas breakfast including breakfast casserole, hashbrown casserole and peaches, we opened gifts.

Sutherlan was so excited about the cupcake maker that she got!! She has been consistent throughout Christmas telling Santa that she wanted a cupcake cooker and ice cream maker. Kiki talked to Santa and told him she was getting the cupcake cooker.

Dylan, on the other hand, wasn't too thrilled about getting jeans for Christmas as you can tell from the picture, but he so desperately needed them. He only had one pair of jeans left that didn't have a hole in the knee!! But, he ended up being very happy as you can see.....

Weekend of Fun!

We have been busy, busy, busy...but it has been a lot of fun! We went to see Disney on Ice, Adventures at Disneyland here in Macon on December 12. The Incredibles save Mickey from the evil Syndrome. Along with The Incredibles, there were other characters such as Cinderella, Snow White, Goofy, Pluto, Alice in Wonderland, Pirates of the Caribbean, the Chipmunks, Papa Bear from Jungle Book and Buzz Lightyear. The kids had so much fun! The only thing was Sutherlan cried all the way home because she thought Mickey and Minnie would come to her seat and give her a hug. She got spoiled at Disney World last year!! We will definitely have to go back to Disney World...SOON!

On Saturday, December 13, we went to see the Rockettes in Birmingham with Kiki, Pops, Aunt B and Uncle John. The kids' favorite part of the show was the soliders falling like a pyramid onto one another. They didn't allow pictures to be taken during the show, but I got a few before the show started. Thanks Kiki and Pops for taking us to see the Rockettes!

Dylan's Class Party

Dylan's class party was the Friday he got out of school for Winter Break. It was a lot of fun. We had cupcakes, pretzels and watched a movie. I'm the Room Mom and so I'm there for his parties and so I took these pictures from the party.

Here is Mrs. Davis opening her present from the class. We got her a gift card for $50 to Bonefish Grill.

The kids were so sweet..they got me this present, which I LOVE!! It will remind me of being Room Mom for Mrs. Davis' class and also the names of each student. I go to the school every Wednesday to help Mrs. Davis and so I've gotten to know the students and they have gotten to know me and Sutherlan very well. They love our visits and are all so sweet! They still call Sutherlan "Dylan's little sister", but she loves it and will answer to just about anything...mostly Sissy because that's what everyone calls her when they don't call her Dylan's little sister.

Aunt B's Baby Shower

Brandon's sister, Brooke, is having a baby in January. Her due date is January 14, but we'll see, right Aunt B? Sutherlan was so excited about going to her shower. She kept saying, "Will I get to see Baby Will today?" I had to tell her a million times that this was a party for Baby Will to get presents. Then she was excited to help open them! Aunt B was so sweet to let her "help" because she definitely kept things moving...she was rushing Aunt B to open them. She would hand her one before she even got the one she was holding open. Thank you Aunt B for letting her "help" you and I know she will love "helping" you when Baby Will gets here.

Sutherlan "helping" Aunt B with the presents. Now we know what Christmas is going to be like.

Sutherlan likes to take pictures and this is what she took at the end of the shower. I thought she did a good job!! She might be a photographer one day.
