Year End Party

Well, baseball season has come to an end and I'm going to miss going out to the ball field! We had our end of the year party Thursday night at Starcadia. The boys all had a great time. They got to ride the go karts and play as long as they could in two hours. They had pizza and then the coach handed out awards. This season has been so much fun and I have really enjoyed meeting the other parents this year. We had a really great group of parents and the boys were all awesome!! I had so many great pictures from that night that I had to include more than usual. Until next season........

Cardinals vs. Cubs

The Championship Game.......we lost 17-7. It was a really good game until the end and then everything changed. There were definitely some "bad" calls made during the game that I think changed the momentum of the game, but overall we had a really good season. I feel very lucky that Dylan was able to get on such a great team with this being his first year of baseball. Their team won two trophies...one for 1st place for the division and one for 2nd place for the tournament. The boys were a little bummed out, but that didn't last long. I know Dylan just loves getting a trophy! We have our team party tonight at Starcadia. I will post pictures later.

Cardinals vs. White Soxs

We had another tournament game last night at 6:45 pm. We won with a score of 18-17! Again, it was an exciting game and very close. We went into overtime or extra innings, so the game went into the 7th inning. The game was tied at 15-15 at the end of the 5th inning and we had to play extra innings to break the tie because of it being a tournament game. I screamed so much last night that I think I strained my throat and it is killing me this morning! We have the last tournament game tonight at 6:00 pm. This is the last game of the tournament, so it is for the Championship!!!! GO CARDINALS!!!!

Cardinals vs. Mariners

We had our first tournament game Saturday at 4:00 pm. It was the most exciting game of the season! It seemed everyone was against us and wanted us to lose because we have done so well this season. Well, they didn't get their wish ---- WE WON 12-11. It was a close game and started out a little shaky, but we managed to pull through and come back to win. It came down to the final inning and we had last bat. The score was 11-11 and we got a score, which made the final score 12-11! Our next game is Monday night. GO CARDINALS!

The Eagles

My friend, Crystal, and I went to see the Eagles Friday night in Alpharetta, GA. It was a really good concert. We met Friday around lunch and spent the day together. We have not seen each other in five years! We met when Brandon and I lived in Greenwood, SC and have been friends ever since. It was a lot of fun to catch up and visit with each other. They opened the parking lot at 5:30 and we were one of the first ones there. We got in line and when they opened the gates at 6:30 pm we took off running trying to get a good seat on the lawn. I know we must have looked like two crazy women -- me, running to get the BEST spot and Crystal, running to get our chairs (which ended up being free for the first 100 people!) The Eagles didn't have an opening act and they managed to play for three hours with a 15-minute intermission in the middle. They sang a good combination of their new and old songs. I thought of mom several times when they played "I Can't Tell You Why" and "Hotel California". I also enjoyed "Desperado". The only downside to the evening was that it was FREEZING and I wore a short sleeved shirt and sandals. Thank goodness Crystal had a poncho that I used to block the wind. It was a lot of fun!!!!!

Day at the Pool

The kids have been begging to go to the pool since December and finally we took them for the first time this year. The water was freezing, but the kids didn't seem to notice until they got out of the water. Hopefully, we will get a lot of use out of the pool this summer. It already seems so much easier this year with Sutherlan and she loves to swim!!

Darlington

This past weekend, Brandon and Dylan went to Darlington for the race. They said it was an exciting race and Dylan enjoyed "booing" Kyle Busch. Dale Jr. raced in the Mountain Dew car with the theme being Old School vs. New School. Darrell Waltrip raced in the Mountain Dew car back in 1981 and 1982 in the #11. Dylan was so cute with his "I Am All Jacked Up on Mountain Dew" t-shirt.

While they were away, the Cardinals played their last game of the season. They won 13-10. The first tournament game is this Saturday at 4:00 pm. Wish us luck! It is single elimination.

Pictures from Tonight's Performance

Here are a few pictures from tonight's performance (Rock and Roll Forever). They were so precious!

Rock and Roll Forever

Tonight, Springdale had a musical program for the PTC meeting. It was called "Rock and Roll Forever". The 1st and 2nd graders performed for the parents. It was so much fun to watch! They sang six songs, which included: Rock and Roll Is Here To Stay, Blue Suede Shoes, Surfin' USA, Tutti Frutti, I Want to Hold Your Hand and Rock and Roll Forever. Dylan was too cute!! He really got into the performance and everyone agreed that he should become an actor someday. I tried to attach some of the performance tonight. I hope it works for everyone. If not, let me know and I will try again.

Cardinals vs. Marlins

We had one of our last two games Monday night against the Marlins and we WON!!! The score was 9-0 and the coach had told us that if we won at least one of the last two games that we would be in first place for our division. The boys were so excited!!! We still have one game left in the season and then we will start tournament games. We have been very lucky this year to be on such a great team and the coach has been wonderful! :) It has definitely been a memorable season!

Macon Diner

I just had to share this with everyone because there is this new place that just opened here in Macon called Macon Diner. Dylan calls it Macon Dinner. Well, we wanted to check it out, so we ate dinner there the other night before Dylan's baseball game. The food was okay. I had a Club sandwich (tasted like any Club sandwich), Brandon had some breakfast food and the kids had spaghetti. They loved their spaghetti. Their menu is very diverse, so I'm hoping next time I can experiment more and get something a little different. Anyway, as we were leaving the cashier asked if she could give the kids a cookie. Of course, I said, "sure". She proceeded to hand me TWO of these cookies! Yes, your looking at this picture right.....that is the center console of the car. I just had to take a picture. I don't think I have EVER seen a cookie that big before! You can get them with chocolate chips, sprinkles, Reese's cups, etc. You have to see the cakes too!

It Happened......

Last weekend, we missed one of our games because we were in Birmingham. Of all the games to miss, we missed the one game that Dylan wanted to be at. We were playing his best friend's team. After the game, his dad texted Brandon to let him know that we won the game (19-9). Although, we were excited about winning, we were sad to miss the game.

On Wednesday night, we won another game to the Blue Jay's. The score was 6-1.

Then Saturday, we lost our first game :( It's so hard losing that first game. The boys were upset, but they played a good game. It was the first game that Dylan had family in town to watch him play. His Aunt B and Uncle John came to see him play. He was so excited that he told me before the game that since his Aunt B was coming that when he got up to bat would we scream "GO DYLAN". I don't think I've screamed that much the whole season. I screamed so loud that day that the other parents on the team were making fun of me saying that the coach's wife was rubbing off on me. (They just didn't know why I was screaming so loud for my baby)! I was so proud of him and he was so happy to have them there watching him. Even though they thought they were bad luck charms for the day, we are so happy that they could come watch him play.

We have two more games this season. If we can win at least one of those games, we can still get first place in our division. Then it is on to the tournament games! Go Cardinals!!!

A Day at the Park

With the weather getting warmer, Sutherlan and I have been trying to spend more time outside. She loves being outside and loves seeing her "friends". We've been to the park several times and I've taken some pictures that I just wanted to share with everyone.

Race Weekend

Last weekend, we headed to Birmingham for race weekend. As soon as Dylan got out of school on Friday, we got in the car and headed that way. Friday night, we went out to dinner with all of our family to celebrate Dylan's 7th birthday again since we didn't get to see family for his birthday. We went to TGI Friday's and had a really nice dinner (although the wait wasn't that great!)

Since Sutherlan and I don't go to the races, we headed back to my mom's house to stay for the weekend. It was really nice getting to visit with everyone since I feel like we don't get home very often any more, especially now that the kids are getting older. We also got a chance to see Aunt B and Uncle John's new house and we love it!! Can't wait for them to get moved in!! Sutherlan is waiting for her "sleepover".
